Thank you for this honest article. Introspection and self honesty is definitely winning and on a much larger scale than any race. Truely inspirational.
After viewing the documentary “Inspired to Ride” I was moved by your determination and performance. (Even old men need heroes.) At 58 due to running I had titanium hardware put in my hips to get me up and at least walking. Last winter on the northeast coast of the USA thoughts of your determination got me out cycling with visions of you and your response to personal loss prior to, and physical challenges during the Trans-American ride. Currently at 67, I do not even take the sharpness of mind for granted. Accepting our physical and mental limitations with continued determination to be a participant and adjusting to those challenges is exemplified by your speaking and writing. Far more than being a remarkable role model for women, your attitude, spirit and determination provides inspiration to the essence of being human. We will all face adversity and limitations on our journey, it is your response that has and will continue to set a standard by which we can measure our own success.
